Hi, I am Ernie,
a Neopolitan Mastiff, just barely 2 years old, born 8/26/2017. And before anyone asks, I will say "Yes, that's right I have a brother named Bert. If anyone happens to see Bert, please give him my forwarding address because, life has been pretty crazy since I last saw Bert." So see Bert and I were adopted as puppies by a really nice couple. But then our lady got cancer, and life got a little crazy. Then her husband's adult son died (also from cancer) and life really became a roller coaster because our lady died just 6 days afterwards! I was surrendered because even though I'm tolerant of other dogs, I am a really dominant kind of guy and need to be supervised whenever I am around another dog. I also need to be separated from other dogs at meal time. When you leave the home and don't take me, I need to be separated from another dog. Otherwise I need to be the only dog in the home. As you can imagine my folks didn't have a lot of time for training (although I am housebroken) so maybe you could work with me on not pulling when I am on a leash? So, like most Mastiffs, I like and am good with people, but I am a little scared at first of new folks. I would adore having my own person that I don't have to share, but I am a master in the art of compromise as long as I know who is the leader of the household (if no one there is sure who's the leader, then I can step in and run the household -- but that's not always a good thing ...so be sure you are the leader in our home). I love, love LOVE going on car rides ... the longer the better. Always be sure you have me on lead coming to and going from the car, as I get enthusiastic at the whole car experience. So if you have a nice yard with a good fence and are looking for a protective room mate -- fill out the application and tell Lisa you are interested in ME! Name is Bert- that's B E R T! If Lisa thinks we'd be a good fit, she'll invite you to the ranch so we can meet and get acquainted and decide whether I am going to be your next life company ... I'm looking forward to meeting you.
